WOULD MY CHILD BENEFIT FROM PRIVATE DUTY NURSING?

Here is a list of questions that may help you determine whether or not your child would benefit from PDN care:

  • Does your child have complicated medical needs?
  • Do they require a tracheostomy and ventilator to breathe?
  • Do they live with paraplegia or quadriplegia?
  • Do they require rehabilitation following a significant injury?
  • Do they have continuous nutritional needs through NG-tube or G-tube?

If you said yes to any of the above questions, it may be time to consider PDN care.

WHO QUALIFIES FOR PDN CARE?

In order to qualify for Private Duty Nursing services through Medicaid, Blue Cross of Idaho, or other participating organizations, parent or guardian must contact the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare to be evaluated.

The State will carefully evaluate each case to determine whether services are needed. For children, qualification is NOT income based, but rather need based. Each case is different and is treated independently.

We provide FREE IN-HOME CONSULTATIONS to those seeking additional information.
